Dr. DiMatteo began her counseling career in 2009. Dr. DiMatteo has also volunteered her time as a therapist for The Mothers' Home, a nonprofit organization, and holds interests in social justice, politics, animal welfare and women's issues.
Among her greatest professional achievements in the field, Dr. DiMatteo currently serves clients who have trauma issues related to 9/11. Dr. DiMatteo can help individuals still suffering from trauma due to the attacks through her knowledge and practice of EMDR and Brainspotting.
Prior to her tenure in mental health, Dr. DiMatteo spent 25 years in various positions until her retirement as a data/business analyst for The Boeing Company. While Dr. DiMatteo held many interesting jobs at Boeing, she chose to go in a different direction professionally. She sought to find a career that offered her a different type of experience, helping clients achieve their highest and greatest potential derived from their personal journey in life. Inspired to work in counseling and therapy, she went to graduate school to pursue both a master's and a doctoral degree in counseling. Presently residing in the countryside with no plans of leaving, Dr. DiMatteo believes it is an ideal location, where her patients can heal in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Dr. DiMatteo earned a Bachelor of Business Administration at Widener University, followed by a Master of Science in Pastoral Counseling and a Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Supervision and Education at Neumann University. Her 350-page doctoral dissertation was titled "Spiritual Integration and EMDR: Exploring Psycho-Spiritual Synthesis in the PTSD and SUD Community." Well qualified in her field, Dr. DiMatteo received certification as an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapist through the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association and a Postgraduate certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy through the Hospital of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Additionally, she received credentials as a licensed professional counselor.
Honoring her accomplishments, Dr. DiMatteo received a Woman of Achievement Award from the Board of Gloucester County, New Jersey, in 2017.
