A dedicated lawyer for more than 50 years, Mr. O'Meara joined Gust Rosenfeld, PLC, in 2002, where he specializes in commercial and real property law, as well as estate and probate law and creditor rights. He uses his robust background to handle bankruptcy issues, employment law, real property and commercial issues on behalf of businesses, title companies, banks and credit unions. Mr. O'Meara began practicing law in 1969 in Tucson with the law firm of Robertson & Fickett. He later worked for the Pima County Attorney's Office to gain trial experience. In 1986, he partnered with friends and joined Bury, Moeller, Humphrey & O'Meara, an insurance defense firm, where he remained for 16 years.
In 1966, Mr. O'Meara earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in the General Program of Liberal Studies at the University of Notre Dame. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Arizona College of Law in 1969. He is admitted to practice in the Federal District Courts in Arizona, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, the Pima County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel, the Tucson Defense Bar, and the National Diocesan Attorneys Association.
Mr. O'Meara has served in the United States Air Force and the Arizona Air National Guard from 1970 to 1977. In recognition of his professional accomplishments, Mr. O'Meara was named one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Arizona by Arizona Business, and Lawyer of the Year in Tucson for litigation, banking and finance, both in 2021. He has represented the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tucson and all its Parishes since 2004. In 2022, he was named one of the Arizona Business Leaders in law for insurance and was honored for his litigation skills, as well as his expertise in banking and finance law.
Civically, Mr. O'Meara has been affiliated with various charitable organizations in Tucson, most notably with Casa de Los Niños and Mobile Meals of Tucson. Looking to the future, Mr. O'Meara intends to continue practicing law and helping his many and varied clients.
