An expert in energy-based project contract negotiations, Ms. Adkins has been an energy contracting consultant for more than 15 years. Prior to embarking upon her professional journey, she completed coursework at Clayton State University. Following this accomplishment, she began her energy career of over 30 years in supply chain management starting in 1991. She subsequently moved on to the purchasing services aspect of the energy industry until starting a role with El Paso Corporation, which is now Kinder Morgan. While working there, she advised high-level executives in the natural gas division of the company and was sent to Mexico to negotiate and evaluate the situation when the company decided to expand their pipeline grid in Mexico.
From 2007 through 2020, she worked for Kinder Morgan as a contract specialist and primary negotiator. She collaborated with the project management, legal, risk management staff, and other relevant stakeholder groups on projects related to the expansion of the natural gas pipeline grid, primarily in the Northeastern United States.
In 2021 she came on board with Dominion Energy where she is currently working with their team to contract a cutting-edge commercial offshore wind farm. It is the future of clean energy in America and is being built 27 miles off the coast of Virginia Beach. It is called Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project and it is the largest project of its kind in the United States. CVOW is equally important for a diverse energy supply, which is essential for reliability, energy independence, and energy security while significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
She is excited about the technology as it will make a significantly positive impact regarding the way people treat the environment. The commercial wind project will substantially reduce emissions from coal-fired power plants and will advance the world's trajectory to relying on green energy for future generations.
Looking toward the future, Ms. Adkins is committed to the completion of Dominion Energy's Commercial Virginia Offshore Wind Project.
