ROCKFORD, IL, September 27, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Monika C. Rogers Clodius has been included in Marquis Who's Who. With a wealth of experience in customer service, management, interior design and gemology to her credit, Ms. Clodius has found success as a jewelry business leader for more than 20 years. She has cultivated an interest in management, merchandising, and custom designs in retail jewelry sales since coming of age, enjoying visiting stores with her mother and seeing different styles and approaches to the craft. She also gained a great deal of adaptability and resilience while growing up, frequently moving due to her father's career. During this time, Ms. Clodius learned to be independent while also maintaining a collaborative attitude with others.
To prepare for her career, Ms. Clodius earned certification as an accredited jewelry professional, Gemologist and Master Jeweler certified in Diamond Grading from the Gemological Institute of America and IJO. In 1999, she became the co-founder and vice president of her company, Clodius and Co. Jewelers. After establishing her company, she was honored with a Best New Business Award in 1999, and the store won first place in America's Coolest Stores from Instore Magazine 2003 and Jewelers of America's America's Best Jeweler, Couture Division for Operational Business Excellence, as well as (10 years running!) Rockford Register Star's What Rocks Best Jeweler since 2012. She is presently responsible for inventory control, including purchasing and managing products for the store, as well as sorting, color grading and clarity grading diamonds. She also works to identify any unknown gems they acquire, utilizing her skills to accurately and appropriately sort them for the store.
In addition to her main career, Ms. Clodius has earned distinction as a guest lecturer on the subject of customer service at Rock Valley Community College since 2003. She was also a youth advisory board member for Congressman John W. Cox Jr. and a board member for Rockford Dance Company. In 2019 she received acknowledgment from the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) for her participation in various fundraising efforts. Currently she serves as a member of the dean's action council for the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford.
Ms. Clodius is most proud to have promoted awareness and kindness in those with whom she has worked. Her philosophy is to keep moving forward in life, despite any obstacles one may encounter on their life's journey. Among her personal accomplishments, she is particularly gratified to have saved a neighbor's life, for which she was honored with a Star of Life Award from the Rockford Fire Department.
Looking toward the future, Ms. Clodius plans to continue her professional journey, and looks forward to training her son to assume control of the business when he is ready. She also hopes to expand her involvement in volunteer efforts and continue her work with nonprofits in her area, including honoring her father by helping veterans in her community.
