Looking toward the future, Ms. MugoreWera aspires to enhance the world by successfully cultivating diverse communities.
KNOXVILLE, TN, September 28, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Drocella MugoreWera has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Originating from a background suffused with resilience in the face of adversity, Ms. MugoreWera, the founder of Diversity in Action, has found success as an international speaker and trainer, conducting webinars and enlivening engagements in-person and online. Previously, she distinguished herself as an executive director at Bridge Refugee Services Inc., an affiliate of Episcopal Migration Ministries and the only refugee resettlement organization based in East Tennessee. The nonprofit organization is dedicated to assisting refugees in acclimating to life in the United States and becoming prosperous members of their respective communities.
Ms. MugoreWera, a refugee in her own right, hails from Rwanda, where she served as a government official from 1997 until 2006. Throughout this period, immediately following the horrors of the Rwandan genocide in 1994, Drocella, a stalwart environmentalist, became notable for her efforts in parliament, aiding in the coordination of a land reform system with the Ministry of Lands, Environment, Forestry, Water and Mines, and negotiating various water, sanitation and afforestation projects. Furthermore, Ms. MugoreWera helped cultivate laws that would promote land cleanliness, particularly in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, among many other accomplishments to her credit.
Unfortunately, systemic oppression and persecution led Ms. MugoreWera to relocate to the United States, where she settled in Tennessee with the help of Bridge Refugee Services. Though her journey was initially filled with fear and doubt, she overcame these obstacles with the support of her network of friends and colleagues, who helped her establish her business as a motivational speaker, coach, and author. Grateful to have been given a second chance in life, Ms. MugoreWera strives to serve as a guiding light to those struggling with hardship, reminding them that though they may lose their possessions, they can never lose their spirit.
Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. MugoreWera has earned distinction as a board member at the East Tennessee Foundation and the Refugee Congress. She has also maintained her affiliation with the Knoxville Association of Women Executives and the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition.
Ms. MugoreWera initially pursued an education at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in agronomy and crop science in 1991. Since emigrating to the United States, she graduated from the Leadership Knoxville Class in 2018 and currently holds certification via the Consortium for Social Enterprise Effectiveness program from Haslam College of Business and the Knox County Action Committee Community Leadership Class. Moreover, she earned a master storyteller designation through the Master Storyteller Academy in 2021.
Accounting for her success, Ms. MugoreWera credits her commitment to personal development as well as her good fortune in meeting the most incredible, dedicated people. Presented with a Danny Mayfield Champion of Change Award in 2021 in honor of her outstanding achievements, she was listed, as well, by West Knoxville Lifestyle magazine as one of four "Go-Getters & Heavy Hitters Women You Should Know" in 2019. Drocella was also recognized as one of "10 Women Making a Difference in Knoxville" by Mercury News in 2016 and received a Peacemaker Award from the Oak Ridge Environmental Peace Alliance.
Looking toward the future, Ms. MugoreWera aspires to enhance the world by successfully cultivating diverse communities. Always eager to attract investments in minority businesses, Drocella is looking for committed global champions in the community who will engage at an organizational level to support Diversity in Action in building a strong foundation for future generations. One of her personal goals is to become a millionaire, thus enabling her to travel the world helping even more people.
