REDONDO BEACH, CA, September 30, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Norbert G. Gomes has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

With many years of excellence to his credit in radio broadcasting, Mr. Gomes has found success as the leader of his own motion graphics company. Since 2000 he has been the founder and chief executive officer for HookCity Productions. In this capacity, he focuses his effort on creating motion graphics and webpages. He is currently working on a broadcasting historical benchmark, creating a twenty-plus chapter website about the highlighted history of a radio station that went on the air in 1922 in Los Angeles, California, where Woody Guthrie began his career.

While developing his current role with HookCity Productions, Mr. Gomes began his career in broadcasting with "KGB Boss Radio" in San Diego. His career tour included stints at KCBQ Radio, as well as KFMB-FM Radio (B-100 FM) both in San Diego, KENO Radio in Las Vegas, KRIZ Radio and KOY Radio in Phoenix and "Kozmic KUPD Radio" in Tempe among the many stations where Mr. Gomes performed as On Air Talent and Music Director and/or Program Director. In 1976 Mr. Gomes created and launched KTNQ Radio, (TEN-Q Radio) in Los Angeles, California - A George B Storer Broadcast Company facility. TEN-Q Radio achieved major national notoriety with one of the greatest stereo AM top 40 air staff in Los Angeles history. Names Like Nancy Plum, The Real Don Steele, Boyd R. Britton, Cleate Dumpter, Tony Evans, Dave Conley, Willie B Goode, Jimi Fox, Joe Nasty, Rich 'Brother' Robbin, Beaver Cleaver, Dave Trout, Phil Flowers and John M Driscoll all entertained and thrilled the Los Angeles listener base. This high energy radio station was featured in Ron Howard's directorial debut movie in 1977, "Grand Theft Auto."

Following this time, Mr. Gomes served as a publication liaison for Mercury Records and was promoted to vice president with the company during his tenure. He subsequently found success as a broadcasting editor first for "Feedback Publication" and later "Cashbox Magazine," after which he became a writer for syndicated columns with "International Press Services." Mr. Gomes was pursued by "Los Angeles broadcasters" and became their head instructor and placement director, placing graduates in exciting broadcasting opportunities.

In 1990 Mr. Gomes expanded his hobby and love of raising orchids by becoming the owner of "Orchids Limited International." The success of "Orchids Limited International" expanded to ownership of "TKO Orchids" and the "World Orchid Financial Corporation." This venture allowed Mr. Gomes to create and register nearly 600 new cymbidium hybrid orchids, as well as numerous other orchid genera hybrids. His nurseries caught the attention of Madam Pien-Zen, who was the minister for China's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and she flew to the U.S. and spent time visiting and sharing knowledge with Mr. Gomes. He himself was later invited by the Chinese government to participate in an expedition with Beijing college students to an area between Bangladesh and China, which led to the discovery of three new cymbidium orchid species. Mr. Gomes was the first person who wrote about the unique discovery with the article first appearing in the "Orchid Advocate" publications. In recognition of his stellar work in this area of orchid breeding, he was awarded 17 national show awards of excellence.

Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Gomes earned his associates degree from San Diego State University. Well-qualified in his field, he attained several professional certifications, including a "First Class" license from the Federal Communication Commission. Mr. Gomes was recognized in broadcasting for his golden ear ability to pick hits, to play first on the airwaves, procuring over 70 Gold and Platinum record awards.

Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Mr. Gomes focused his media expertise as a school lead videographer and photographer for Jefferson Elementary School in Redondo Beach. His effort as Yearbook Director garnered the school third place nationally in yearbook competition, making Jefferson Elementary the first elementary school to shatter the awards ceiling that was always won by college and high school entries. Within the coming year, he intends to finish his broadcasting historical website and then focus on creating a website presentation that highlights the beauty of cymbidium orchids. Mr. Gomes subsequently plans to focus on 4K converted eight-millimeter footage that he and his parents took of Europe in 1958 when he was growing up as a personal project.
