Prior to serving in her current role, Ms. Harrington began her career teaching kindergarten and second-grade students at the Los Angeles Unified School District in 2003.
Following this period, Ms. Harrington became a fourth grade teacher for Anthony Burns Elementary School and functioned as an English as a second language teacher for another elementary school. She later served as an English learner program specialist for Prince William County Public Schools for five years and as an assistant principal for 3 years. Ms. Harrington went on to serve as the principal for Lakeridge Elementary School for three years, whereupon she established her own business.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Harrington earned a Bachelor of Arts in liberal studies from Point Loma Nazarene University. She subsequently studied at California State University, Long Beach, where she received a Master of Education, with a specialization in reading and language arts, in 2009. Ms. Harrington continued her academic efforts at George Mason University, graduating with a Master in Educational Leadership in 2016. Well-qualified in her profession, she holds an administrative and supervision license and is certified as a reading language arts specialist.
As part of her career, Ms. Harrington has given several local, state and national presentations, lending her expertise to a variety of organizations. She has presented at the WIDA 2014 National Conference, the Virginia TESOL 2018 Annual Conference, and the Prince William County Schools Launching Leadership Capacity conference. She focuses her speaking engagements on English learner practices and instruction, owing to her specialty in working with multilingual speakers.
Within the coming years, Ms. Harrington plans to increase her involvement as a keynote speaker, broadening her national and international exposure for her business in the hopes of helping more educators across the nation and throughout the world.
