Mr. Schieffelin serves as the genersal manager of Schieffelin Enterprises, LLC, a fitness and wellness company that operates Gemini Fitness & Wellness. Housed in an 11,000 square foot building owned by Schieffelin Enterprises, LLC, Gemini Fitness is an award-winning fitness center that offers a diverse menu of services. There is a modern and clean fitness center offering a wide variety of equipment for the general membership. In addition they offer one-on-one counseling for new members, personal training services, small group training, pre and post-surgery programs, and GolfMaxProtm, a proprietary advanced flexibility program for golfers. Since founding the company in 2008, Mr. Schieffelin has overseen the daily operations of the business including doing personal training, annual planning, program development, pricing, and advertising & marketing.
In becoming a business owner, Mr. Schieffelin drew inspiration from his two sons, both of whom live with learning disabilities. As they were graduating from college in 2005, his sons were deciding how to proceed in life. Personal training was a perfect choice, as they are personable, outgoing and love physical activity. Mr. Schieffelin helped his sons become nationally certified as personal trainers and he, himself, became certified as well. In 2008, the family opened Gemini Fitness & Wellness with the goal of making a difference in the lives of their friends and neighbors in the local community while earning a living.
Well-qualified in his field, Mr. Schieffelin has gained national certification via the American Council on Exercise as a personal trainer, group exercise instructor, and lifestyle & weight management coach. During his career he has been active in numerous volunteer nonprofit organizations, either as a board member or in a leadership position.
Before entering the fitness field, Mr. Schieffelin worked in marketing for such companies as Nestlé and the Personal Care Products division of American Cyanamid. He later became VP and Sr. VP of Marketing in two international trade associations. A frequent speaker and session facilitator at numerous industry events, he received many plaques of recognition. He has won both a Clio for packaging and the Best New Product Introduction from Advertising Age. He holds a bachelor's degree in English from Lake Forest College and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University. Of all his many accomplishments, Mr. Schieffelin is most proud of being able to help his sons live independently. Looking toward the future, he aspires to continue expanding the business through challenging times by broadening the fitness services it currently offers.
