Moreover, as of 2012, he has been active as a director at Leadership Erie County, a nonprofit service-orientated organization that trains civic-minded individuals to serve in their community. In this capacity, Mr. Hayberger is responsible for recruiting individuals into the training program by providing information about leadership classes, as well as organizing retreats and tours to manufacturing, businesses, non-profits, educational and governmental organizations.
In addition to his real estate profession, Mr. Hayberger built a prolific career as a sixth-grade educator at Sandusky City Schools for 35 years. Since 2018, he has also been appointed to the role of supervisor at the Ashland University Lorain County Community College. In his career-related endeavors, Mr. Hayberger has contributed as a presenter for 15 consecutive years at the Ohio Students Education Association's Annual Spring Conference titled "Aspire to Inspire."
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Hayberger pursued an education at Bowling Green State University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in education. He continued his academic efforts at Cambridge College in Massachusetts, earning a Master of Education. As a commitment to his field, Mr. Hayberger has been active with several organizations, including the City of Sandusky's Bay Front Corridor Committee, the Wightman-Wieber Safety Committee, the Sandusky Lion's Club and the Salvation Army.
Well regarded for his contributions to the field, Mr. Hayberger has received multiple accolades, including the Sandusky City Schools Teacher of the Year Award, the Firelands Association of Realtors Service Award and the Distinguished Leader Award from Leadership Erie County. Likewise, he was bestowed with the Chairman's Award, the Youth Service Award and the Ambassador of the Year Award from the Erie County Chamber of Commerce, to only name a few.
Among his professional accomplishments, Mr. Hayberger is most proud of serving as the chairman in the collaboration between the Sandusky Education Association and the Sandusky City Schools for the "I Have Been Back to School" program, which paired host teachers with guest teachers for a day in the classroom. Additionally, he is gratified to have originated and chaired the We Care Christmas Food Box program for the needy families of Sandusky City Schools, which has been funded by the Sandusky Education Association and functioning for nearly four decades. Mr. Hayberger was awarded the "Nick in Time" Lifesaving Award for saving a youth from drowning.
