Ms. Clarke is an experienced logistics officer who has been serving in the U.S. Army for the past 20 years. As the Commander of the New England Recruiting Battalion at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine, she supports the states of Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. In this capacity, Ms. Clarke travels from state to state to recruit and enlist qualified individuals to join the U.S. Army. She also frequently talks to local legislative members, superintendents and city officials about how to help educate residents regarding the many opportunities the U.S. Army has to offer. Additionally, Ms. Clarke works with veterans to help them acclimate back into the community and successfully gain employment.
Proud to serve her country, Ms. Clarke originally enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve as a 75B (personnel administration specialist) in 1997. Ms. Clarke received her commission into the Transportation Corps as a second lieutenant in 2002.Among her many accomplishments, she has been recognized as the first female and African American in the U.S. Army to command the New England Recruiting Battalion. Ms. Clarke also served as Special Assistant to Chief of Staff of the Army at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., as well as an Assistant Executive Officer for the Office to the Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management at the Pentagon.

Ms. Clarke is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, The ROCKS, Inc., the Association of the United States Army, and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated. She also recently established The GEM Leadership Foundation in 2022. Actively engaged in serving the Lord, Ms. Clarke has been involved with Deliverance Outreach Temple Church in Clarksville, Tennessee, Light of the World Ministries in Killeen, Texas, Word of Faith Christian Fellowship Church in Dumfries, Virginia, and Christ is Life International Church in Pyeongtaek, South Korea.
While embarking upon her professional journey, Ms. Clarke received a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 2001 and a Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from the University of Phoenix in 2009. Ms. Clarke also holds a certification in ministry from the Sonship School of the Firstborn located in Killeen, Texas.
To commemorate her achievements, Ms. Clarke received a Chairman's Award in 2012, 2014 and 2016 and a Colonel Robert "Bobby" Burke Award in 2018 from The ROCKS Inc. She was also nominated for an Image Award from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in 2021. For her military contributions, Ms. Clarke has been decorated with a Bronze Star Medal (1XOLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4X OLCs), Army Commendation Medal (3XOLCs), Joint Service Medal, and, among others, an Army Achievement Medal (1xOLC). She also received a Joint Meritorious Unit Award, a Superior Meritorious Unit Commendation, a Meritorious Unit Commendation, and a NATO Medal-5 and she is authorized to wear the Joint Staff, Army Staff and Recruiter Identification Badges.
Ms. Clarke attributes her success to her faith and the support of her family. She notably garnered inspiration to pursue a career in the military from her father who also served in the military.
