Leveraging more than four decades of experience in the field of medical and mental health care, Mrs. Bright has earned distinction as the founder and chief executive officer of the eponymous Rhonda's Rainbow Family of Dance, a nonprofit community organization that seeks to promote physical fitness and mental health through the medium of dance. Since 1998, she has focused her efforts on organizing classes, workshops, dances, practice sessions and special events for students of all ages in the area of Fayetteville, North Carolina. As the head of the organization, Mrs. Bright handles both individual lessons and group classes, as well as choreography instruction, on behalf of anyone with the desire to participate, regardless of skill level or physical disabilities.
Outside of her primary endeavors, Mrs. Bright previously worked in the mental health field for 30 years, during which time she served as a level two rehabilitation technician and later rose to become a program coordinator on behalf of the Easter Seals UCP of North Carolina and Virginia, for which she worked from 1994 until 2013. Additionally, she contributed as a medical records analyst for Evergreen Behavioral Management Inc. between 2009 and 2011.
Prior to embarking upon her professional journey, Mrs. Bright earned an Associate of Science in medical office administrative assistance from Rutledge College. She was also bestowed with an honorary doctorate for her exemplary work.
Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Mrs. Bright, in 2016, she established a food bank and partnered with The Fresh Market of Fayetteville, the market named it the food bank of the year for 3 consecutive years in the program Feeding Across America. In 2015, she began her service as Founder/CEO of T.R.I Wheel Family Motorcycle (an acronym for Teaching and Reaching Individuals) to teach anyone who always wanted to drive a motorcycle, provide trainings on Can Am Spyders, learn about their bike and give veterans and the elderly who always dreamed of riding on a motorcycle. She is a member of several organizations, including the Order of the Eastern Star, "Triple Nickels" 555th Parachute Infantry Association Samuel Council Chapter, Ft. Bragg, NC and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6018 Auxiliary.
In recognition of her expertise and dedication, Mrs. Bright was honored with a Keepers of The Culture Award during the Red Ball in South Carolina in 2013. Furthermore, she received a Humanitarian Award from the Fayetteville-Cumberland County Human Relations Commission, a Cumberland County Care Award, the Ester Dept & Mary McAllister Individual Award, The 2021 Citizens Award, and The People of Fayetteville Humanitarian Award. Most impressively, Mrs. Bright was granted a Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joseph Biden.
In accounting for her success, Mrs. Bright credits the values instilled by her parents, who taught her the value of giving selflessly to one's community. Among her most cherished accomplishments, she is proud to have transitioned toward the teaching of dance while still being able to help care for others. In her estimation, her classes are not merely lessons to be memorized, but opportunities to build relationships and forge bonds that will last forever.
