Notably teaching for more than five years now, he joined the public school district after relocating to the U.S. from England. Involved in various aspects of the school's success, Mr. Takhar has lent his time and expertise to several projects that have supported the student council and the soccer team. Despite advancements in technology, Mr. Takhar notes that nothing can replace a great teacher.
Casa Grande Union High School was established in 1920. Today, the school offers a curriculum in English, mathematics, world languages, science, social sciences and fine arts. It also provides exceptional student services, and career and technical education.
While embarking upon his professional journey, Mr. Takhar received a master's degree in education in 2019. He subsequently completed his first year of doctoral education in his native England before transferring his credits to a local institution in the U.S. Mr. Takhar aims to use his future degree to make a much larger impact in the industry.
Being able to make a positive impact on children as a teacher has been one of Mr. Takhar's greatest achievements. In 2021, he was recognized for his efforts when he was named the Teacher of the Year by Casa Grande Union High School.
Encouraged by his mother to learn the importance of humility, Mr. Takhar is eager for the future of his career in education. Mr. Takhar also finds constant inspiration from his former teacher, Ms. Robinson, who was influential in so many other aspects of his life besides the subject she taught him in school.
