For more than four decades, Ms. Hunt Phillips has excelled in the field of logistics, leadership and mentorship, beginning as a teenager, when she worked in the Department of Defense's student program. Throughout her career, she has served in various competency and leadership roles. In 2010, she was selected as the Executive Director of Naval Air Technical Data and Engineering Service Center.
Previously she served as the Service Center's Aviation Readiness and Resource Analysis Department Head whose transformation strategy led to the execution and delivery from paper to standard aviation digitized technical data for which she presented a technical paper at the Navy Symposium. She is the recipient of the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Medal for her contribution.
She previously garnered experience at Naval Aviation Depot North Island as a Program Analyst, Supply Support Competency Manager, Fleet Readiness Action Group Manager, Deputy Aircraft Production Manager for the aircraft line and the Command's Contract Integrity Procurement Manager. She also served as the Naval Aviation Depot Equal Employment Chair, Federal Women Program Committee Chair, the Acquisition Logistics Intern mentor and career counselor at two commands.
She attended the University of Redlands and San Diego State University's Executive Management Program, LEAD San Diego's Program and the Senior Logistician Certification Program. She holds membership and served in various capacities in Federally Employed Women (FEW), Blacks In Government (BIG), National Council of Negro Women, Society of Logistics Engineers (SOLE), American Business Women Association, and California Leadership Council.
Civically engaged, she served as the Federally Employed Women's 1999 first ever Worker Trainee component Chair. Ms. Hunt Phillips have served as board chairman or member of San Diego Jackie Robinson YMCA, Gold Coast Classic, Project EMON/NUWAY, Regional Occupational Program-Student to Careers and Student to Teachers, San Diego Dress for Success, Southeast Counseling and Consulting Services Inc., San Diego Birthing Project and the League of Women Voters.
She is a national speaker, mentor and coach and published author of technical competence for both federal and community-based organizations and the humanities, which include areas of motivation, women issues, coaching and mentoring. Ms. Hunt Phillips founded a local mentoring of government, contract and military women aboard her base which yielded her an invitation as a "Change Maker" to the 2016 United State of Women Summit sponsored by the White House with a follow-on in 2018.
Recognizing just a few of her many accomplishments; she was a two year nominee for the San Diego Business Journal "Women Who Mean Business", recognized by San Diego City as Women in Government, a 2019 honoree as Woman of the Year for the California State Senate, saluted by the military as 2005 Military Spouse of the Year and numerous city, state and federal awards in addition to special congressional recognition certificates for service to the community. She is a consistent professional who continues to mentor the next generation of leaders across the country.
