GILBERT, AZ, October 21, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Franklin Grosbayne has been included in Marquis Who's Who. After working in the field of education for more than 35 years, Dr. Grosbayne retired from his role as vice president of student services for Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, CA, where he worked between 2001 and 2006. Previously, he gained valuable expertise in the field with Arizona Western College through which he served as vice president of student services, dean of students, associate professor, and coordinator of student activities. Similarly, Dr. Grosbayne lent his considerable expertise to his work as a high school lead administrator and teacher for the Harvest Preparatory Academy in Yuma, AZ from 2007 to 2012.
Outside of his work, Dr. Grosbayne dedicated himself to various organizations, including the California Student Opportunity and Access Program, BPO Elks, the Freedom Library, Inc., Arizona Western College's Athletic Foundation, and more. Driven to stay abreast of changes in the field, he aligned himself as President of Yuma Youth Leadership, and a member of the Arizona Association of Student Personnel Administrators, and the Association of Student Judicial Affairs. Throughout his career, he has channeled his vast breadth of knowledge into a number of publications such as the "AWC Behavioral Code of Conduct." Likewise, Dr. Grosbayne was a solo cellist with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in 1962.
An expert in his field, Dr. Grosbayne holds a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park, a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from the University of Minnesota, and an EdD in Educational Administration from Northern Arizona University. Over the years, Dr. Grosbayne also expanded upon his expertise by completing postgraduate coursework in counseling and student personnel administration at The University of Arizona and earning a teaching certificate in counseling from Arizona Western Community College in Yuma.
In light of his outstanding breadth of knowledge, Dr. Grosbayne was selected to represent Arizona at the Dean's Academy in Santa Fe, NM, which was sponsored by the Northcentral Council of Community Colleges. Additionally, he received a full scholarship to study cello under Zara Nelson through the Aspen Music Festival, was named homecoming honoree in 1978 at Arizona Western College, had his dissertation selected for a special library display through Northern Arizona University's Department of Educational Administration, and won the Wizard of Oz Award for Courage and Leadership by the staff of Arizona Western College in 2001. Though his career has been filled with standout moments, he is most proud of his administrative style, problem-solving skills, and discipline. In the coming years, Dr. Grosbayne intends to enjoy his well-deserved retirement with his wife, children, and four grandsons.
