EAST GREENBUSH, NY, October 21, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Leo A. Kellogg has been included in Marquis Who's Who in America. With over three decades of experiences in public service, and over two decades in local and international non-profit organizations, Mr. Kellogg has achieved excellent success in each area.
Upon completion of college, he volunteered for the United States Army and served for three years in the Counterintelligence Corps. He was assigned to the Army Language School to learn German, and then deployed for two years in Germany, and received an Honorable Discharge. Mr. Kellogg is a Life Member of the American veterans organization, AMVETS.
His career in New York State was in administrative service positions, including as Director of Personnel in two State agencies and Executive Assistant in a major part of one of the State agencies. He received his Master's degree in Public Administration from Rockefeller College of the State University of New York in 1966. Mr. Kellogg served as Chair of the Empire State Capital Area Chapter in the American Society for Public Administration, and is a Fellow in the New York State Academy for Public Administration.
His public service included election to a position in municipal government, and appointment as Local Board Member by the Director of Selective Service for the President of the United States to the Local Selective Service Board that included Rensselaer County, NY.
Also, in providing a service to the public, he was Registrar of the Saratoga Springs (NY) History Museum, where he initiated an inventory, and designed a Collections Management System to include all collections and all departments of the museum.
As a Member of Opera Saratoga (NY) he enjoys opera and is a member of the Guilds of both Opera Saratoga and the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. For other fun, he hiked the entire Appalachian Trail, and went sky diving.
Mr. Kellogg is a Life Member of American Mensa. He was President of Mensa of Northeastern New York, and in 2010 wrote a history in book and multi-media formats of its first 48 years. He is also a Life Member of Intertel, an international society in thirty-two countries, similar to Mensa International.
In the International Association of Torch Clubs, Mr. Kellogg received the Gold Award for exemplary service at the international level where he served as Director-at-Large and in many other capacities, such as co-leader of the committee that created its initial website, three terms on the Nominating Committee, and writing a manual for the international elections. He created a team of eleven members, with one co-leader from Canada and one co-leader from the United States to lead it, to prepare a Centennial History for 2024. At the local level, he received the Silver Award of excellent service, was President and is Honorary Life Member of the Albany (NY) Club, founded the Saratoga (NY) Club, was Liaison for establishment of the Adirondack Club, and was General Chair of an annual international convention.
He is a Lifetime Member of the Torch Foundation, was a Trustee, wrote and digitized a Policy and Operations Manual with thirteen sections, and is on the Honor Roll at the Bearer level.
Mr. Kellogg considers his lovely wife and wonderful children and daughter-in-law to be the greatest part of his life!
