BRADENTON, FL, October 26, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Madelyn A. McGuire Taylor has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. With many years of experience as an educator, Ms. Taylor has dedicated her career to identifying the worth and value of every child. Her goal was to instill a love of learning in every student.
She was most recently the principal of St. Joseph's school (PreK - grade 8) in Beverly, New Jersey. During her tenure, the enrollment went from 80 to 180 within six months. She initiated a chess club, math club, school band, choir and arranged for a Japanese teacher to come for a school year to teach Japanese language and customs.
Preceding this, she was Principal/Teacher for the Department of Defense Overseas school system in Japan, Philippines (3 school years), the Bahamas and Cuba. Being adventurous and curious she climbed Mt. Fiji and rode the rapids in the Philippines.
Preceding the Department of Defense, Ms. Taylor taught in both public and private schools on Long Island, New York, including St. Mary's in Manhasset and the Wantagh public school system in Wantagh, Long Island where she earned tenure. Currently, she serves on the parent's advisory committee for the Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Ms. McGuire Taylor graduated from the Mary Louis academy and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from St. John's University.
In recognition of her excellent work, she was chosen to spear head a multi-level/bilingual program by SRA called DISTAR in the Pacific district of Department of Defense Overseas schools. She was honored with the superior Outstanding Teacher award for Elementary education in both the Pacific and Atlantic areas of the Department of Defense Overseas School system. She was also named Teacher of the Year throughout her career.
On a personal level, Ms. Taylor has been married for 47 years to Lt Commander Retired T. W. Taylor. She is the mother of two boys, Christopher (now deceased) and Adam (CEO of Taylor Value Capital). She and her husband have four grandchildren, Angelique, Katie, Henry and Kip (Christopher).
