Prior to working at Vodafone, Dr. Pallath was highly regarded as one of SAP's most innovative R&D Scientists, especially in the domains of Machine Learning and Data Mining techniques. As SAP's Chief Data Scientist and Senior Director, Dr. Pallath led the research and development of SAP's predictive analytics solutions that enable companies to increase productivity and accuracy of results by automating the entire predictive analytics process. During his time at SAP, Dr. Pallath was awarded the SAP Labs India Star Innovator Award (2014) in recognition of his extraordinary efforts and especially his pioneering work in leveraging Machine Learning for game strategies in the field of sports (Cricket). During his time at Pitney Bowes, Dr. Pallath was the first in the industry to deploy computer vision to estimate product pricing to enable cross-border e-commerce for eBay which enabled eBay to expand operations across multiple countries across the globe. At a Hedge Fund, Dr. Pallath's work of leveraging machine learning to support high-frequency trading was the first to be deployed at the National Stock Exchange when automated trading was first legalized for Indian Markets.
During his Ph.D., Dr. Pallath conducted path-breaking research that informed cryptographic technologies used by the Indian Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) in the Indian Ministry of Defense. Indian Defense agencies used Dr. Pallath's research that explored leveraging Artificial Neural Networks to identify the type/class of encryption algorithms that could be used to encrypt messages intercepted from terrorist groups. By narrowing the search space of algorithms, this research enabled DRDO to deploy statistical methods to decrypt these types of messages. Dr. Pallath's work in the private sector has been a driving force in the development of AI and machine learning predictive analysis solutions. His R&D work, which has led to proprietary solutions and numerous patents, makes him stand out as one of the very top scientists and professionals in his field.
However, Dr. Pallath's innovative achievements are not limited to the private sector. He has also advanced the domains of AI and Machine Learning through ongoing academic research that has resulted in multiple peer-reviewed articles in his field that have now been cited over 460 times.
