Mr. Harris is a partner with Fitzgerald & Ross Capital LLC. Under upper management leadership, Mr. Harris tracks financial performance and reviews financial information, forecasting and analysis to help guide decision making and set strategy. He supports the creation and execution of the best financial processes for the firm, which is currently developing financial awareness, financial literacy, and community engagement programs for youth in multiple locations in the United States of America.
Outside of his primary career efforts, Mr. Harris has provided his expertise to many organizations throughout the course of his career. To wit, he functioned as a services supervisor for the ARC of Southern Maryland from 1997 to 1998. He worked as a systems administrator and a legislative assistant for multiple members of the United States House of Representatives between 1999 and 2001. Mr. Harris also volunteered with the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education, Jericho Broadcast Networks, the Speak Up Network, and the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, Southern Nevada Chapter, among many other organizations. He currently serves as a board member for the National Latino Cosmetology Association Foundation. In addition, Mr. Harris is a member of the American Association of Political Consultants, the Florida Alliance for Retired Americans, and an associate member with the Teamsters National Black Caucus, Florida Gulf Coast Chapter.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Harris was the legislative, community, and political organizer for the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Nevada in 2006 and a team leader for Nevada One on One the same year. He was a field organizer with the Nevada State Democratic Party and a senior field consultant with ACORN/SEIU in Saint Louis, Missouri. Following this time, he was an office manager with Working America in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2007 and a residential organizer in the western region with the Laborers International Union of North America until 2008. That year, he subsequently was a lead organizer placed by Grassroots Solutions working with the Sierra Club's Power 2 Change Campaign in Nevada and later, he became the Nevada state consultant for the Alliance for Retired Americans. He was also the southern region political coordinator for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters working with leadership in nine states, including local union leaders, members of Congress, governors, state legislators, and local public officials.
In 2011, Mr. Harris was a research associate with Precision Opinion, and a research fellow with the National Latino Cosmetology Association Foundation until 2012; he currently serves as a board member of the latter. In this role, he is responsible for assisting in making influential decisions on behalf of the organization. He also leads in fundraising activities and exercises exceptional judgment regarding organizational advancement. He also served as a field organizer for the Working Families Party in the state of New York in 2012 and, in 2013, he functioned as field staff for the Florida AFL-CIO in collaboration with the Central Florida AFL-CIO. He continued his career in numerous staff leadership positions, including working with the New Virginia Majority in Northern Virginia.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Harris earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. He subsequently graduated summa cum laude with a Master of Arts in social justice and community organizing from Prescott College. Well-qualified in his field, he is also a certified professional job recruiter from the former Institute of Professional Recruiting and a certified human rights consultant by the United States Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights. In recognition of his excellent volunteer work and community service, Mr. Harris was recognized as the Julius A. Pratt Knight of the Year by the Knights of Peter Claver Western States District in 2011.
