Dr. Albertine dedicates himself to his community through the Mary Washington Health Care System. Likewise, he was appointed by Governor Thomas H. Kean as a member of his economic policy committee and appointed by former President Ronald Regan as chairman of the aviation safety committee and to a presidential commission on private sector initiatives. To remain aware of developments affecting his field, Dr. Albertine aligns himself with the National Association of Business Economists, the National Association of Secondary School Principals, the American Council for Capital Formation and the American Business Conference.
Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, Dr. Albertine earned a Bachelor of Science in economics from King's College in 1966 and a Doctor of Philosophy in economics from the University of Virginia in 1975. To commemorate his accomplishments, he received fellowships through the Woodrow Wilson Foundation and the National Defense Education Act. In a career filled with highlights, he is most proud of advocating for safety in the airline industry, including the requirement of a secondary flight deck barrier on commercial planes, which adds an additional layer of security to prevent hostile takeovers on the flight deck.
Dr. Albertine attributes his success to his father, who instilled in him the value of an education, his mother, who taught him good values as well, and his wife, Mona, who has supported him throughout the entirety of his career.
