A leader in the industry, he consults with clients regarding corrosion and coatings, frequently working with individuals from various sectors, including industrial, transportation, chemical, and petrochemical. Additionally, Mr. Turegano manufactures and markets technically advanced coatings, wrapping bands, and sealers.
Garnering extensive industry experience in engineering, manufacturing, sales and marketing, Mr. Turegano began his career representing General Electric as an international sales engineer. He subsequently worked for Ameron International as its director of Asian operations, Sigma Coatings as the manager of engineering, Ameron International/PPG Industries as the international sales executive and, more recently, as a coatings engineer for Jacobs Engineering. Furthermore, Mr. Turegano was affiliated with STOPAQ B.V. as an engineering consultant and distributor.
A talented artist and sculptor, Mr. Turegano has enjoyed the opportunity to showcase his talents the field of art. Among his greatest accomplishments, he notably designed and constructed a monumental sculpture in Corpus Christi in 1981, which was titled "Sea-Bird." The abstract piece of art stands at approximately 20 feet in height.
After graduating in the top 10 of his class at Central Catholic High School in San Antonio, Texas, Mr. Turegano garnered a Bachelor of Science in mathematics at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh in 1968 and a Master of Fine Arts in drawing and sculpture at the Institute of Allende in Mexico in 1975. He is a professional member of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers and the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (now Steel Structures Painting Council). For his contributions to his country, Mr. Turegano was decorated with a Good Conduct Medal.
An Eagle Scout and distinguished member of Toastmasters International, Mr. Turegano has also been recognized for his work with various charitable organizations over the past 35 years, including one that is engaged in drilling wells for water in rural communities. Additionally, Mr. Turegano served his country for three years in the U.S. Army.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Turegano plans to prepare for retirement and transition his focus back toward fine arts. In the meantime, he is expanding his business and heading research and development efforts on water-based coatings that are more environmentally friendly.
