Drawing on five years of expertise as a fitness instructor, Ms. Cementina has earned distinction for her role as the owner of Emobile Gym Fitness LLC, a boutique fitness studio offering Zumba, spin, cycling and personal training services. In addition to the gym's brick-and-mortar location, she holds group classes and personal training sessions out in the community in local parks, recreation areas and clients' homes. In addition to her role with Emobile Gym Fitness LLC, Ms. Cementina serves in the insurance industry as a client service executive for Cigna.
Ms. Cementina became involved in health and fitness after her mother had a stroke; the experience caused her to re-evaluate her priorities to help ensure that she would live a long and healthy life and spend as much time as possible with her children and grandchildren. The business has grown rapidly. When she founded her gym in 2021, its studio space totaled only 600 square feet; since then, it has expanded to almost 2,000 square feet – a notable accomplishment, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Looking toward the future, Ms. Cementina hopes to move to an even larger studio.
Priding herself on her diligent work ethic, Ms. Cementina attributes her success to her involvement and engagement with the local population, and has made it a priority to meet their fitness needs. As a second-generation immigrant from the Philippines, it was important to her to become a part of the community. As a sign of her dedication, Ms. Cementina is active with the local chamber of commerce and volunteers for several charitable organizations, including Susan G. Komen, United Way of America, American Red Cross and WeCare Philippines.
In recognition of her accomplishments, Ms. Cementina was lauded as one of the top 25 women in business in 2022 and is currently a finalist to receive the 2022 Scranton Award for Growth & Excellence in the category of New and Emerging Business of the Year. She holds an Associate of Applied Science in business administration and management from Queensborough Community College and is a certified personal trainer via the American Sports and Fitness Association.
