Drawing on over five years of diverse expertise, Dr. Butts specializes in optometry and physical fitness. Since 2021, he has found much success as an optometrist at Caruso Eye Care in Lake Worth, Florida. In this capacity, he is responsible for conducting routine eye exams on patients of all ages, establishing treatment plans, management and diagnosis of various ocular diseases, and prescribing glasses and contact lenses. Prior to this role, Dr. Butts served as an optometrist at Eye Associates of Boca Raton PA from 2018 until 2021.
Dr. Butts initially began his career in optometry in 2016 working as an optometric extern at the Koetting Eye Center and, subsequently, at Eye Centers of South Florida. He was also active as an optometric intern at the Brockton Veterans Affairs Medical Center and at DotHouse Health from 2016 to 2017. Between 2017 and 2018, he garnered expertise as an optometrist at Advanced Eye Care Center, and later at LensCrafters in Pembroke Pines, Florida. In addition to his primary vocation, he serves as the owner of Ur Gains Fitness since 2021. In this capacity, Dr. Butts provides guidance on proper nutrition and supplement support to complement the workout regimen of his clients that benefits their fitness goals for muscle building, weight gain or loss.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Butts pursued an education at the University of Central Florida, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in molecular biology and microbiology, with a minor in health sciences in 2010. He continued his academic efforts at the New England College of Optometry, earning a Doctor of Optometry in 2017. As a commitment to his field, he is nationally certified as a trainer and a fitness nutrition specialist via the American Council on Exercise. Additionally, he has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the Florida Optometric Association and the T. Leroy Jefferson Medical Society, among others. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Dr. Butts contributes to the local school drives in his community and to charities dedicated to raising funds for natural disasters.
Well regarded for his contributions to the field, Dr. Butts has received the Top 40 Under 40 Award from Legacy Magazine. Among his professional accomplishments, he is most proud of earning his doctorate degree in optometry and of founding his successful fitness facility without prior entrepreneurial expertise. He attributes much of his success to his upbringing and to his parents, who established a strong foundation for him and provided him with the necessary resources to excel academically. Looking toward the future, Dr. Butts aspires to expand the scope of his fitness business to multiple locations and hopes to continually thrive as an entrepreneur and an optometrist.
