In 2021, Dr. Wentworth was named professor emeritus at Chadron State College. Prior to this appointment, she served as an associate professor for five years, and assistant professor for five years, and a full professor for six years in the mathematics department. Her academic credentials are impressive and include a Doctor of Philosophy in curriculum and instruction for mathematics education from the University of Minnesota, which she completed in December of 2009. She also earned a Master of Arts in teaching mathematics education from Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Minot State University.
Dr. Wentworth pursued a career in academia based on her passion for learning and for the discipline of mathematics. Today, she maintains vital industry memberships in both the Nebraska Association of Teachers of Mathematics (NATM) and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). She is also involved in the Order of the Eastern Star. Throughout her career, she has received numerous commendations, including the Teaching Excellence Award from the Nebraska State College System in 2020. Moreover, Dr. Wentworth was proud to be nominated to join the board of trustees of the Chadron State Alumni Association.
