She is on multiple committees for PES and is on the board of directors for Southern California Organization of Pediatric Endocrinologists. She is also involved in efforts towards promoting diversity, equity and inclusion as part of the DEI consortium at her current institution. Looking toward the future, Dr. Bakhtiani aims to expand the endocrine late effects clinic and develop educational curriculums for trainees. Additionally, she hopes to begin conducting additional research and quality improvement projects to improve the quality of care in this area at the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.
Dr. Bakhtiani prepared for her career by earning her medical degree at Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore, India. She subsequently completed a residency in pediatrics at the State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences Center, Brooklyn, New York in 2014 and a fellowship in endocrinology and diabetes at Case Western Reserve University/Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio in 2017. She gained invaluable experience as an early career attending at the University of Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Bakhtiani earned board certification in pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology and maintains a medical license in the state of California.
