Woodruff is notably a quaint and unique town in north-central Wisconsin's Greater Minocqua Area consisting of the Towns of Minocqua and Woodruff in Oneida County, and Arbor Vitae in Vilas County having a combined year-round population of approximately 8,849 and tens of thousands during the summer.
A graduate of Lakeland Union High School in Minocqua, Wisconsin, Mr. Blazkowski subsequently served his country as a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Company Commander. Mr. Blazkowski also attended Harvard's Kennedy School of Government after acquiring a master's degree from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, a bachelor's degree in Geography and a second bachelor's degree in Business Management from Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin.
Mr. Blazkowski is a professional member of several organizations related to his industry, including the American Planning Association, the National Association of County Planning Directors, the Wisconsin Land Record Association, the Wisconsin Economic Development Association, and the American Institute of Certified Planners. Additionally, Mr. Blazkowski serves as the president of the Towanda Lake Association, has been on the board of directors of the Wisconsin River Rail Transit Commission, the Pecatonica River Rail Transit Commission, and the Northland College – Sigurd Olsen Environmental Institute.
In 2020, Mr. Blazkowski was honored to receive the Friend of the Lake Award from the Towanda Lake Association. The association serves to represent property and business owners that reside within a mile of Towanda Lake in Arbor Vitae, Vilas County, Wisconsin. Mr. Blazkowski also has served as President of the Blackhawk Curling Club, the board of directors of the Janesville Noon Rotary Club and as a member of the Janesville Country Club.
