BALDWIN, NY, November 15, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Heidi Riegler has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Leveraging over a decade of expertise in her chosen field, Ms. Riegler has earned distinction as the founder and owner of the Vienna Cookie Company, a purveyor of handcrafted Austrian cookies and pastries. In her capacity as the executive pastry chef, Ms. Riegler draws from dearly-held family recipes and her own experiences coming of age in Austria to deliver delicious sweets for her patrons in stylish Viennese Art Nouveau packaging. Her products can be found via the Williams Sonoma website, her own web store at www.viennacookiecompany.com, her bake and gift shop in Baldwin, New York, or in select stores in New York City.
Ms. Riegler has also found success as a marketing and communications professional, serving as the owner of Riegler Media Marketing, a boutique public relations firm that offers its services in the fields of sponsorship, event planning and general marketing services. Previously, she worked in positions of leadership at a variety of cultural and nonprofit organizations, including the National Academy Museum and School, the Museum of Arts and Design, the American Federation of Arts, the Brooklyn Academy of Music and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, among others. Likewise dedicated to passing on her knowledge to others, Ms. Riegler also served as an adjunct instructor at New York University from 2013 until 2015, during which time she taught new and social media marketing for the arts.
Ms. Riegler is also an accomplished playwright. At the young age of 18 years, she wrote her first play, a dramatization of Hansel and Gretel, for her father's children's theater company. The play was published by the Viennese publishing house Kaiser and Co. She dramatized four additional Grimm's fairy tales, which were published by Kaiser and Co. and Hans Pero in Vienna Austria, and presented at various theaters throughout Austria. Ms. Riegler continued writing plays focusing on adult audiences. Her first play was presented at La Mama Theater and Five Miles in New York City. A staged reading of Arthur Schnitzler's Casanova's Homecoming was presented at New York Theater Workshop and at the Adrienne Theatre in Philadelphia. Her most recent plays, Seeing Mona Lisa and The Wallet, were presented in private readings.
Before venturing onto her vocational path, Ms. Riegler sought a formal education at the University of Vienna in Austria, from which she earned a Master of Philosophy in theater history and journalism in 1988. Following this accomplishment, she studied Performing Arts Management at Brooklyn College, where she graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in 1994. After years of success in the realm of public relations and marketing, she wanted to change careers and felt compelled to work creatively. After drawing rave reviews for her side business of baking cookies, resolved to steer her career ambitions accordingly, which culminated in an online sales contract with Williams Sonoma and her first review in The New York Times.
Ms. Riegler is proud to have built a successful business which has required her to cultivate an innate understanding of the desires of her customers and the creativity to offer new and exciting recipes for every season. To her, her products are no ordinary sweet treats, as they bring back memories of home and family to her customers, which is most rewarding to her. In accounting for her success, she credits her propensity for consistency, hard work and unflinching determination in the face of hardship. Looking toward the future, Ms. Riegler hopes to continue sustaining the success of her business and perhaps expand her offerings to include a Viennese-style coffee shop.
