BRUNSWICK, GA, November 15, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- William P. Bristol, M.D., FAAP, has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. A physician for nearly six decades, Dr. Bristol has served since 2007 as a staff physician for the Southeast Georgia Health System in a pediatric clinic designed and dedicated to the care of indigent children. Throughout his career he has sought to bring care to the underserved as well as being a successful teacher of medical students and pediatric residents. In that vein, he currently is on the faculty of the Medical College of Georgia and directs the pediatric program for the college's south east campus. Dr. Bristol has been teaching pediatrics and caring for children since 1970 when he completed a two year stint in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. While a faculty member and administrator at several medical schools Dr. Bristol has had an active research interest in rural health.
Dr. Bristol completed his medical studies at the University of Michigan School of Medicine. His pediatric residency training took place at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan and at Denver Children's Hospital where he was chief resident.
Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Bristol has most enjoyed working with other professionals who shares his passion for serving others. Of his many achievements, he is proudest of providing excellent care to children whose health has suffered due to the circumstances of living in poverty.
Dr. Bristol is a member and former president of the Georgia Chapter American Academy of Pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has been recognized throughout his career for his accomplishments, earning numerous teaching awards and a Service Medal from the U.S. Air Force. He was also featured in the article, "Dr. William P. Bristol: A Community Treasure," by Healthy Partners in 2021.
