As the owner of two trusted dealerships, Mr. Powell and his team strive to provide unmatched products and services to every client they serve.
An expert in teambuilding, Mr. Powell presently oversees more than 100 employees. When he is not busy mentoring and advising his staff members, he is involved in various other aspects of the business, including marketing, sales, finances, training and more. As a testament to his success in this regard, Mr. Powell's two locations are among the top rated in the region for dealership training and customer satisfaction.
Prior to taking ownership of Yes Chevrolet in 2019 and Yes Ford in 2020, Mr. Powell worked as the general manager for Astro @ Exit 132 Buick from 2003 to 2017. He subsequently served in the same position for Todd Judy Ford between 2018 and 2019.
During high school, Mr. Powell attended an autobody trade school, which sparked his interest in the industry. After graduating, he studied business and finance at West Virginia University. Years later, Mr. Powell graduated from the NADA Dealer Academy so that he could sharpen his skills and become a better-rounded automotive dealer. He also graduated from the World Wide College of Auctioneering.
Having come of age in the industry, Mr. Powell's father and brother have owned car dealerships in their own right. In a field that requires a great deal of sacrifice, he frequently commits to long hours to accommodate the needs of both his dealer locations. Despite his difficult schedule, he is passionate about what he does and always does his best to maintain an effective balance between his life and career so that he can spend quality time with his wife and children.
As a part of his professional commitments, Mr. Powell is aligned with the West Virginia Automobile Dealers Association, where he has served on the board of directors since 2019. Furthermore, he is active as the president of Chevrolet's Regional Advertising Group and is a member of the NADAPAC Committee.
In recognition of his hard work and dedication, Mr. Powell has received the Mark of Excellence every year from Chevrolet. He was also honored as Philanthropist of the Year at Fairmont State University. He credits much of his success to employing a winning group of men and women who all work collectively to achieve company goals.
