Specialized in nursing, Mrs. Tucker lends more than two and a half decades to her role as a hospitalist nurse practitioner at the Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas. In this capacity, which she has held since 2019, she is responsible for admitting patients, performing medical history analysis, physical assessments, rendering diagnoses, and devising treatment plans. Prior to her work in this role, she served as a registered nurse in critical care at the facility between 2004 and 2019, and as a critical care nurse at the Odessa Regional Medical Center from 1999 until 2004. Mrs. Tucker initially entered her chosen field as a licensed vocational nurse at the Medical Center Health Systems in 1998.
Mrs. Tucker's professional efforts have been supported by formal education at South University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, magna cum laude, in 2016. Following this accomplishment, she graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing with a post-masters certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2018. Eminently qualified in her field, she bears relevant designations as a family nurse practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, a Yellow Belt via the Lean Six Sigma Institute, and in providing advanced cardiovascular life support and basic life support from the American Heart Association.
To remain aware of developments affecting her field, Mrs. Tucker has maintained her affiliation with such relevant organizations as the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and the Advanced Practice Nurses of the Permian Basin. In recognition of her accomplishments, she was formally inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Additionally focused on civic advocacy, Mrs. Tucker has also volunteered her efforts in charitable endeavors with FOOD2KIDS and the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
Though her professional journey has been filled with many memorable moments, Mrs. Tucker is particularly proud to have worked as a clinical informatics analyst for the information technology department at Medical Center Health Systems, bridging the gap between the bedside and EMR world. She was a super user for the intensive care unit for 7 years, during which time she helped transition the department from paper documentation to digital. For her efforts, she earned a Star Employee award. In accounting for her overall success, Mrs. Tucker credits her desire for continuing education, as well as her innate passion for caring on behalf of other people. Looking toward the future, she hopes to secure a role as an Acute Care NP in a Neuro ICU at the Mayo Clinic and aspires to remain active in a hospital setting for years to come.
