She also works with the Congress of Christian Education through her church membership. Prior to her current role, Ms. Gunby began her career as a case worker intern for the Department of Social Services in 1975. Prior to embarking on her professional journey, she earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from Spelman College in 1972. She then attained a Master of Arts in human resource development from Webster University in 1998. Well-qualified in her field, she is a certified residential specialist and holds an accredited buyer representative designation. In recognition of her excellent work, she was honored with a Golden Soror Designation and a Louise M. Parker Service Award and Deloris H. Oliver Leadership Award from the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Within the coming years, Ms. Gunby intends to continue serving as a productive and positive contributor to society while watching her grandchildren achieve their aspirations.
