As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Drawing on his considerable engineering experience, Mr. Farach presently provides engineering services at BSI Engineering. His teaching experience as a previous instructor at the Morrison Institute of Technology lends itself to be the ideal "mentor" to some of the ambitious young engineers starting in the profession at BSI. Previously, he served as a senior structural engineer with Structural Design Group, LLP, as a civil/structural facility engineer with SSAB North America Inc, and many other engineering consultants where his expertise were put to good use. Two of these consultants; Intersystem, a subsidiary of the giant "Agco" corporation, and Engineering Service and Product Company provided Mr. Farach with the opportunity to develop innovative solutions some of which were awarded structural patents during his tenure. From the year 1981 to 1991 Mr. Farach was Principal owner of "The Farach Group", a structural consulting firm in Longwood, Florida. Other firms that gained from his valuable expertise include the United States Gypsum Company, where he participated in research and development of new structural products. At a public service level, Mr. Farach served as the mayor of the City of Longwood, Florida – 1988 – 1990, where a "sister city" with the Soviet Union was established through his efforts to honor then President Ronald Reagan in his efforts for World Peace – Mr. Farach authored Resolution 650 which was executed on behalf of The City of Longwood, Florida, and brought success to these efforts.
An expert in his field, Mr. Farach holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Florida. Over the years, he has expanded upon his expertise, earning certifications in advanced steel design, structural dynamics, computer-aided design, and computer programming. Currently, he continues to expand his technical knowledge in the demanding field of structural engineering through seminars, research, coupled with personal efforts to stay up to date on the technological advancements in structural engineering. Due to his vast breadth of knowledge, Mr. Farach has contributed to such publications as "Light-Gauge Engineering in Today's Marketplace – The Challenges," "Light-Gauge Structural Frame Wekiva Oaks," and "Building Borrows from Oil Rig Technology," among others.
While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Farach takes the most pride in earning the American Institute of Architects Award for designing the Downtown Orlando Bus Terminal, which was published in an Architectural magazine in Japan and featured in the American Institute of Steel Construction Journal. Looking toward to the future, he intends to continue with the growth of his technical knowledge and remain active in his long and successful career until such time of his retirement date. Ultimately, Mr. Farach aims to spend more time with his wife, Dorothy, their two mares, PJ and Heysel – "the girls," and of course their two beautiful kiddies, Finley and Squeak – "the boys," while pursuing his hobbies, which include activities in culinary adventures, the arts, and some woodworking.
