In his downtime, Dr. Hyre frequently participates in a local food program that serves the elderly population throughout parts of the city, as well as clothing drives for the less fortunate. Additionally, Dr. Hyre is active with the Young People's Education Program and The Westchester Community Organization.
To prepare for his career, Dr. Hyre initially studied at the University of the West Indies where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics Education. He subsequently earned a second Bachelor's degree in Community and Human Services at Empire State College at SUNY, followed by a Master of Education degree in Integrated Studies, Cambridge College. Furthermore, Dr. Hyre is a licensed marriage officer, phlebotomist and electroencephalogram technician.
Dr. Hyre has been honored with several accolades in light of his achievements, including a Mayoral Award, a Director's award from The Young People's Education program, Award for Community Service, an Ambassador's Doctoral Award from Cambridge College, and a President's Award from the Westchester Community Foundation.
