ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL, December 05, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Katherine Haile has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. Ms. Haile began her career serving in the United States Army from 1975 to 1978. She then worked in Burlington, NJ as program coordinator for Providence House, a domestic abuse shelter, from 1978 to 1979, and in Fort Dix, NJ as a substance abuse counselor, then supervisory counselor, from 1979 to 1990. In these capacities, she was appointed as the point-of-contact for drug and substance abuse related issues and was responsible for evaluations, treatments, drug samples and results, as well as substance abuse education classes. Ms. Haile then moved to Japan and was clinical director at Camp Zama for the next five years. Upon her return to the U.S., she returned to Fort Dix, NJ and was an alcohol and drug control officer from 1995 to 1997. Her next stop was Korea where she remained in the same role at Camp Humphreys from 1997 to 2002. Ms. Haile's next move was to Fayetteville, NC where she served as chemical additions rehabilitation program coordinator for the VA Medical Center from 2002 to 2005. She then moved to Alaska to serve as an Army substance abuse program manager at Fort Greely from 2005 to 2008 and at Fort Stewart, GA from 2008 to 2014. She also worked part-time as docent for the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace from 2008 to 2020.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Haile pursued an education at Seton Hill University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in social welfare. She continued her academic efforts at Rider University, attaining a Master of Arts degree in guidance and counseling in 1983. Ms. Haile concluded her scholarly endeavors at Capella University, earning a Master of Science degree in human services in 2009.
As a commitment to her field, Ms. Haile was certified as a prevention specialist, an employee assistance professional, a certified social worker and a licensed drug alcohol testing technician by the Department of Transportation. Additionally, she was active as a member with the National Association of Social Workers. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. Haile volunteers at various events in her community and serves as a board member at her local Homeowners Association.
Well regarded for her contributions to the field, Ms. Haile has received multiple awards, including three Army Commendation Medals, as well as Special Act Awards and an Army Achievement Medal, to only name a few. Over this past summer (June 2022) she was also honored as a distinguished alumna by Seton Hill University and more recently (November 2022) was awarded the Seton Hill Affinity Challenge Coin. Reflecting on a long career, she attributes much of her success to her moral ethics and to the Army for instilling in her the value of loyalty, integrity and selfless service.
