Outside of her work, Ms. Valdez contributes to her community through the local church, as well as fundraisers for children's sports.
An expert in her field, Ms. Valdez holds a bachelor's degree in special education with a minor in Spanish and psychology from Adams State University and a master's degree in modern and classical languages and education from the University of New Mexico. While her career has been filled with standout moments, she takes the most pride in seeing the smiles on her students' faces when they graduate. Likewise, she authored a book titled "The Penitentes," through Balboa Press in 2019.
The cornerstone of Ms. Valdez's success lay with her parents and their work ethic. From the time she was a child, she saw her father and mother planting potato crops and tending to them day and night in order to help them grow. Looking toward the future, Ms. Valdez aims to enjoy her well-deserved retirement and reflect back on a notable career in which she helped countless students achieve their dreams.
