When Ms. Bradley founded the company as a subscription box in 2017, her goal was to disrupt generational poverty; to date, the company has impacted the lives of 40,000 children through its culturally affirming STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) products, including toys, books and games that expose children to careers through play. Prior to founding Brown Toy Box Inc., Ms. Bradley was a fellow for the Center for Civic Innovation, a resident of the 2019 Center for Civic Innovation in partnership with Sara Blakely, and a fellow with the city of Atlanta's Women's Entrepreneurship Initiative. Previously, she served as principal for Playground Public Relations, a communications officer with the city of Atlanta, and vice president, crisis, issues and public affairs for Edelman. She holds a bachelor's degree in mass communication from Augsburg University.
As a result of Ms. Bradley's dedication and commitment to changing the lives of many, she has received numerous awards and accolades. She received a 100 Female Founders Award from Inc. Magazine, a Civic Impact Award from the Atlanta Business Chronicle, a Civic Impact Award from the Sara Blakely Foundation Inc., and a 100 Women of Influence Award from the Atlanta Business League. She was included in Who's Who Among American High School Students, is a member of the Junior League of Atlanta and sits on the board of Women in Toys.
Outside of work, Ms. Bradley enjoys spending time with her children, D'andre, Justin, Elliot and Makayla, and with her toy poodle, Rocky. Her hobbies include reading, travel, physical fitness and volunteer guest speaking to introduce people to the concept of entrepreneurship. Looking toward the future, Ms. Bradley hopes to expand as a multimedia company; she is currently partnering with tech companies to develop games and digital content. She also hopes to continue expanding the business by acquiring small African American-owned toy companies.
