Having competed and placed multiple times in numerous bodybuilding competitions, Ms. McQuay typically trains six days per week and includes rotating muscle groups and cardio into every workout. Despite suffering three spinal cord surgeries during her years in the military and having to undergo back surgery in 2016, she entered her first NPC competition in Utah in 2017 and placed fifth in the bikini division. The same year, Ms. McQuay competed again in Los Angeles and won First Place. Among other recognitions, she won the First World Record in Canada and two World Records in the U.S. in 2021 and 2022.
Following her passion, Ms. McQuay admits that her bodybuilding career began as a hobby; something that she wanted to check off her bucket list. Apart from training, she spends her time providing expert advice as a weight training coach and in various volunteer capacities at bodybuilding competitions.
Ms. McQuay notably served in the Canadian Armed Forces as a military police officer for 6 years before retiring in 2016 due to a spinal cord injury. She also owned and operated a home daycare center.
Through her local community, Ms. McQuay enjoys giving back by engaging in initiatives that support those affected by domestic violence.
Well-qualified in her field, Ms. McQuay is a certified land and water fitness instructor. She also received credentials in ophthalmic assisting, completed credentials to become an emergency medical technician, and completed coursework in criminal justice at Grant MacEwan University.
