With more than three decades of excellence in engineering, Mr. Height has earned distinction as a dedicated leader in his field. Mr. Height started his career in engineering at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Washington DC. Mr. Height is an operating Engineer for the District of Columbia. Since 2006, Mr. Height has focused his efforts on checking boilers and chillers around the different Plants including Police Stations, Fire Departments and the District of Columbia Schools to ensure the safety of the students and staff. In 2015 Mr. Height started working at the 911 Unified Command Center in Washington DC, as the Plant Engineer where he is still an employee. Mr. Height previously worked as an HVAC Mechanic 1, and an engineer-plant operator in the Arlington County Detention Center.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Height graduated from ICS Newport/Pacific High School. Mr. Height completed a Master course in air conditioning, refrigeration and heating with high honors and received a diploma. He also studied Professional Locksmithing and Advanced Locksmithing and completed a course in Master Keying. Mr. Height is also a valued member of Local 730 Washington D.C., Brotherhood of Teamsters union and is a licensed member of the District of Columbia Board of Industrial Trades. Mr. Height is a licensed Steam Engineer, Class 3, he also completed classes on boiler water chemical treatments as well as cybersecurity training. Mr. Height is certified as a Universal Technician as required by 40 CFR Part 82 Subpart F by the ESCO Institute, and licensed as a refrigerator/air conditioning journeyman mechanic.
Mr. Height serves as an usher at Sunday mass and helps with outreach to families in need and to the seniors in his community. He is highly respected for his generosity and kindness. He was recognized with several certificates of appreciation from the Department of General Services, a certificate of achievement and RoCo, A Service of Ecolab Inc., and certificates of achievement from the National Association of Power Engineers Education Foundation and the Government of the District of Columbia Office of Public Education Facilities Modernization.
