Leanna Sue Wilson takes the most pride in her commitment to the marginalized and to her work advocating for women's health.
SCOTTSDALE, AZ, December 08, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Leanna Sue Wilson has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Drawing on years of professional experience, Ms. Wilson today excels as the managing partner and vice president of marketing and public relations with Nokomis Research Inc., a global healthcare research company known for its work in polyamine-based cellular protection and regeneration. In her dual roles with Nokomis, Ms. Wilson maintains responsibility for the daily operations of the company and the management of all aspects of corporate communication. She is deeply involved in the research and development branch of the company, constantly looking for new ways to combat the health issues of a greying population. Her work has led to the discovery of a world first, a means to counter illness and the effects of aging through the balancing of hormones. For this she has been awarded two patents with four others currently pending.
Alongside her work with Nokomis, Ms. Wilson, under the name Sierra Gunn, acts as the executive producer of Back Bacon Productions, where she is responsible for the technical and creative aspects of feature-length and short-film production. Over the years, she has developed an emphasis on social documentaries, including "L.A. Harmony," "Away from Here," and "Running Ragged, Running Scared," which she wrote and produced. Her screenplay, "The Colter Chronicles," which addresses ongoing conflicts on the United States and Mexico border, was a special entrant at the Oaxaca Film Festival in Mexico. Other creative endeavors include the writing and hosting of "Sex on a Wednesday Afternoon," a weekly, informative medical radio show on reproductive health.
During the early stages of her career, Ms. Wilson gained valuable expertise through her roles as Public Relations Directors at two community colleges. She later channeled this expertise to the health care arena where she took over the dual role of Director of Public Relations and Marketing at St. Michael's, an 800 bed teaching hospital in Toronto. Later, as director of health care at National Public Relations and then with Edelman Public Relations Worldwide, Ms. Wilson maintained accounts for both the pharmaceutical industry and a number of non-profit organizations. In conjunction with her PR work, Ms. Wilson advocated on behalf of those less fortunate, assisting The Canadian Brain Injury Coalition, the Association for Children and Adults with Learning Disabilities, and women's clinics in their outreach programs. She also established the Friends of St. Michael's hospital fundraising campaign and founded a fertility foundation for endangered species. Her children's book, "Charlie and the Chatty Cheetah," is the first of a new series, "Animal Crackers: A Children's Story Guide to Endangered Species, that she has in development.
An expert in a number of diverse fields, Ms. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from York University; her graduate work was undertaken at both the University of Hawaii and Central Michigan University. She holds a certificate in the Management of Change and is a member of the Professional Writers Association.
While her career has been filled with highlights, she takes the most pride in her commitment to the marginalized and to her work advocating for women's health. Though hard work and dedication have brought her far, she credits her success to constantly finding new things to do and to learn and, more importantly, never giving up on her dreams. In the coming years, Ms. Wilson aims to promote the restorative influence of her research findings on hormonal balance and to continue her work with endangered species.
