Prior to his work at Tropical Smoothie Café, Mr. Sutton hailed from a multifaceted background in finance, accounting and hospitality, having served as a tax consultant at XCM Solutions LLC from 2019 until 2020, and as an accountant at Bacall & Coniff PC between 2017 and 2019. Previously, he worked on behalf of the Starr Restaurants group from 2015 to 2016, and the Union Square Hospitality Group between 2012 and 2015. Having begun his career in finance, Mr. Sutton maintained involvement with Barclays Capital and PricewaterhouseCoopers as an operations analyst and audit associate, respectively.
Mr. Sutton first sought a formal education at Bucknell University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting in 2008. Following this accomplishment, he went on to attain certification in the food industry, including a food handler's license via the New York Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in 2013, a hospitality management certification from the Institute of Culinary Education in 2016 and a ServSafe manager certification in 2020. Presently, he remains active in his local community as a member of the New Providence Business Association.
Among his most cherished achievements, Mr. Sutton is most proud to have become a business owner, which represents the culmination of many years of effort. In accounting for his success, he credits his innate passion, as well as a propensity for hard work. Likewise, he is gratified to have worked with many people from a diverse array of backgrounds.
