Apart from overseeing operations for Apricus Venue, Mr. Figueroa is the co-founder of Bella Luna Event Hall, a luxury venue in Dallas that is similar in size and offers indoor event space and a superior sound and lighting system. Mr. Figueroa notably oversees operations as the general manager and serves as the company's design lead. Known locally for his exquisite taste, he has the unique ability to transform an empty room into an elegant and sophisticated gathering space for weddings, corporate events, quinceaneras, mitzvahs and other social events.
Transitioning into the hospitality sector after two decades in the biotechnology pharmaceutical sector, Mr. Figueroa began his career as a market development associate for Merck Sharp & Dohme in 1996. He subsequently worked for 3M as a northwest Mexico pharma specialist from 2000 to 2003. Mr. Figueroa also garnered experience with Genzyme Mexico in various roles between 2003 and 2012, including as the senior global product manager and as the director of global marketing, and Aegerion Pharmaceuticals as a consultant from 2014 to 2016.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Figueroa aims to become recognized as a leader in the events industry. He also aspires to work in consulting so that he can provide his expertise to startup entrepreneurs. Growing up in an underprivileged family, Mr. Figueroa is very proud of the success he has made, and he attributes much of it to his passion and desire to do better for himself and for loved ones.
An alumnus of the Universidad Autonoma de Baja California, Mr. Figueroa received a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering in 1994. Mr. Figueroa also completed several executive programs at the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a social justice community program at the Community Resources for Justice in Boston and completed special executive leadership training at the Learning Disabilities Association of Texas.
