He served as the president and chief executive officer of the company from 1990 until his retirement in 2013, at which point the company was acquired by Winchester Interconnect. During his tenure, he focused his efforts on managing the company as a whole while devising business strategies. He also engaged in visitation and presentation planning for various customers, both existing and potential.
Prior to his most recent role, Mr. Behrent began is career as a regular employee of the shipping and receiving division, moving up to an assistant sales manager and finally a national sales manager role for State Electronics. He then was a connector, project manager and manager of the assembly department for JMAR Technologies Inc. in 1982. Following this time, he served as an interconnect product manager for Manhattan Electric Cable from 1985 until 1990. Among his professional accomplishments, he was featured in Mergers and Acquisitions Magazine and is proud to have had Bomar Interconnect Products recognized as one of the Top 101 Components and Most Innovative Products by Electronic Design in 2010.
Exercising his creative side, Mr. Behrent authored "Planes, Pranks & Pepto Bismol Too: More Tales and Tips from a Seasoned Road Warrior" in 2013 and "The Guardian of Haunted Hill: A Paranormal Murder Mystery" in 2014. Also a dedicated civil advocate, he is a volunteer presenter and photographer for Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey and is an eagles' nest monitoring volunteer with the Division of Wildlife and Protected Animals for the State of New Jersey. He was also a valued member of the Open Space Committee of Roxbury Township for 23 years. In recognition of his stellar work protecting the natural environment, he received an award for his photographs of eagles.
Looking to the future, Mr. Behrent intends to spend his retirement taking care of his health, having survived a heart attack and quadruple-bypass surgery. A hard-working individual by nature, he holds a strong sense of humor as well as a persevering attitude, which he now turns towards his creative ventures photographing nature.
