Mr. Doroquez is the retired editor of the University Accounting Manual and coordinator of financial policy development at the University of California, where he spent nearly 30 years. Born in the Philippines, he developed an interest in business administration, finance and development at a young age. He studied accounting, earning a bachelor's degree in 1962 and pursued his graduate education In the United States, receiving a Master of Business Administration in accounting and finance from Golden Gate University in 1967.
During his time at the University of California Mr. Doroquez contributed to and oversaw numerous projects with an eye toward compliance and developing a strong institutional foundation for the future. Among the highlights of his time at the school was his work clarifying IRS code amendments to administrators and other departments. During his career, Mr. Doroquez remained committed to professional growth and continuing education, and he completed a creative writing certificate through Oxford University.
In recognition of his dedication and professional excellence, Mr. Doroquez was honored with a University of California Management Incentive Award and he is a three-time recipient of the University of California Outstanding Performance Award. He credits much of his success to his consistent hard work and willingness to go the extra mile for his team.
Before his retirement, Mr. Doroquez was active in the National Association of Accountants and the Western Association of College and University Business Officers, and always tried hard on the side to find time to write essays, poetry, short stories, and contributes articles to newspapers and magazines. In retirement, he gives to charities and community service initiatives.
