Co-founder along with her sister Nina Simmons of Special Touch Learning Academy #1 was the beginning of her success. Eventually, single owner and founder of Special Touch Learning Academy #2. In this capacity, she serves as the academy's chief executive officer and executive director. In 2017 Simmons Jones, co-founder, her son Nathan Guice and her daughter-in-law Jazherine Jamias opened a third location Four Corners Academy of Vallejo, CA. Since 1994, she has focused on managing the schools while ensuring the staff has the resources they need to provide stellar care and education to the students. Among her professional accomplishments, she is proud to have received an Award for Excellence from the Mayor's Committee in 2011 and 2012.
Outside of her primary career efforts, Dr. Simmons Jones authored numerous works for the education field. In 2015, she wrote "CLLAIMM: Optimal Results for Institutional Student Learning" and "The Cllaimm© Model: Optimal Results Maximizing True Potential for Student Learning Preschool Through Pre-Adolescent" in 2022. Also, she is a dedicated civil advocate and the founder of Marena's Family Foundation. Before embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Simmons Jones earned an associate degree in criminal justice law and corrections from Solano Community College. She attained a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, and Operations and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from American Intercontinental University in 2011. She then gained a Doctor of Religious Education from the Pueuma Theological Seminary. She is well-qualified and holds a certificate in early childhood development.
In December 2022, Dr. Simmons Jones is expanding Special Touch Learning Academy #2 into two new locations, allowing more children in her community to have high-quality childcare, including in low-income communities.
Additionally, she manages and supports the endeavors of her granddaughters, the Guicegirls Melanie, Nia, and Olivia Guice. The Guicegirls, well-known young entrepreneurs aged seven, six, and three years old, are already authors, YouTubers, and business owners, creating content based on their faith in God.
