Subsequently, she expanded upon her industry knowledge, earning a master's degree in mathematics education from Western Governors University in 2018. In light of her professional achievements, she was named an Educator of the Month through Sugar Salem School District. While her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Neilson takes pride in being recognized as the Teacher of the Month for her dedication to her students.
As a student, she graduated valedictorian and received a 4.0 GPA in college. She was very involved in many extracurricular events including sports, band, piano and choir. Additionally, Ms. Neilson won second place in a state competition for her ability to play the saxophone. She received her second degree black belt in karate and helped teach youth classes. Even with all of this, Ms. Neilson still found time to volunteer in the elementary school where she now teaches, as well as tutor math courses for older students. The cornerstone of her success lay with her parents who have been her steadfast advocates. Her family has been her greatest support. In the next five to ten years, Ms. Neilson intends to continue pushing herself as an educator so that she can make a difference in the lives of those she teaches.
