Prior to her current endeavors, Ms. Malone served in various roles throughout the health care industry. To wit, she functioned as the president of a paramedic service in Fayetteville, North Carolina, from 1982 until 1995. She also worked for more than a decade at the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where she rose from the level of a staff nurse in 1975 to the director of quality assurance in 1985. Previously, she had worked as a private duty nurse in New Jersey, and as a nurse at the Heilbronn Elementary School in Germany from 1967 until 1968.
Likewise dedicated to education, Ms. Malone has parlayed her knowledge of the field to students as a legal nurse consultant and lecturer on the subject of quality assessment and performance improvement. Moreover, she maintained involvement in 1995 as an instructor at Fayetteville Technical Community College, and as a nurse at the local Westover Middle School in 1979.
Before venturing onto her vocational path, Ms. Malone sought a formal education at what is now the Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, from which she earned a diploma in nursing in 1965. More than two decades later, she went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science from St. Joseph's College in 1986. Well qualified in her field, she has been registered as a nurse in the states of Hawaii, New Jersey and North Carolina, and is a certified professional in health care quality.
Among her most cherished accomplishments, Ms. Malone is simply proud to have saved the lives of so many patients, including that of young children. She is also gratified to have worked extensively with a variety of young mothers, many of whom went on to remain in contact long after taught them how to care for their children. In accounting for her success, Ms. Malone credits the words of her English teacher; "Nothing learned is ever lost."
