After earning a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in civil and structural engineering through Chicago Technical College in 1955, Mr. Gianforcaro served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Belvoir, Virginia and Frenchmen Flats, Nevada. Mr. Gianforcaro had a Secret Clearance and worked with the Atomic Energy Commission on nuclear bombs. He also had a Secret Clearance and worked on the Anti-Ballistic Missile project for the United States Defense Department. Mr. Gianforcaro received certifications as a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New Jersey, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and past member in the State of New York along with a Licensed Uniform Construction Code Official, a Sub-Code Official, and a licensed Building Inspector in the State of New Jersey. During the early stages of his career, he worked for a consulting engineer who designed the first New York Giants football stadium in the country. Mr. Gianforcaro was a project Engineer for a major bridge project for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. Subsequently, he established his own engineering company at which time he served as a project engineer for approximately five years for Headquarters Plaza in Morristown, New Jersey.
Supported by years of professional experience, Mr. Gianforcaro presently excels as a partner with Gianforcaro Architects, Engineers, and Planners, where his son and grandson are partners in the firm. In the years since forming his company, he has developed an expertise in forensic engineering that has led him to testify in the New Jersey, New York, and California Courts along with the Federal Courts as an expert witness. Mr. Gianforcaro attributes his success to his drive to keep others safe and to his contributions regarding the overall development of safety in the field of engineering.
