Backed by years of experience in talent acquisition, social studies, language arts, special education, and more, Mr. Nogg presently excels as the principal of Goldenview Middle School and was elected to the Anchorage Principals' Association (APA), and as Vice President and Director of Region IV of the Alaska Association of Secondary School Principals (AASSP). Additionally, Mr. Nogg was twice selected as a member of the Contract Negotiation Team for APA and also serves as a member of the Anchorage School District Controversial Concerns Committee. Between 2015 and 2017, he gained valuable expertise in the field of educational administration as the assistant principal of Mears Middle School. During the early stages of his career, Mr. Nogg worked as the assistant principal of Clark Middle School and the Alaska School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
Over the years, he has also contributed to the Alaska Principals' Conference, the National Junior Honor Society, various food drives for the Food Bank of Alaska, and the Alaska Women's Shelter. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Nogg aligns himself with the National Council for the Social Studies, and the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
An expert in his field, Mr. Nogg holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education with an emphasis in Psychology from Alaska Pacific University and a master's degree in educational leadership from the University of Alaska Southeast. Due to his vast breadth of knowledge, he has been featured in Princeton Crimson, the Alaska Educators' Blog, Anchorage Daily News, and Green and Gold, which is the publication of the University of Alaska, Anchorage. Likewise, Goldenview Middle School was recognized as one of the best middle schools in the United States through U.S. News & World Report. In 2020, he was named Principal of the Year by the Alaska Society for Technology in Education. In 2022-2023, he was elected as the Director of Region 4, Alaska Association of Secondary Administrators (AASP), and the Vice President of the Anchorage Principals Association (APA). Additionally, he serves as a principal mentor to principals in the Anchorage School District as well as principals in Alaska's unique rural districts.
