Mr. Hanten has also been serving as the vice president and portfolio manager for Pilot Capital Management Corporation in Minneapolis since 2010 where he specializes in managing investment portfolios and provides various financial planning, asset preservation, and consulting services. Additionally, Mr. Hanten has been affiliated as a brokerage general agent for Catholic Financial Life in Plymouth, Minnesota, since 2002, where he is responsible for serving clients and recruiting and training new agents. Among his varied community interests, Mr. Hanten has been serving on the board of directors for Catholic Eldercare since 2011. He also co-founded and has served as the chief operating officer and board chair for the Sodality of Saint John the Baptist, a nonprofit organization that raises funds and distributes approximately 150,000 meals to local shelters throughout the U.S. and Haiti. Additionally, Mr. Hanten is a member of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM), officially the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and of Malta, commonly known as the Order of Malta or Knights of Malta, and the Knight of the Holy Sepulchre, and is a knight of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. Previously, Mr. Hanten was a trustee for All Saints Catholic Church in Minneapolis. He was also a board member of the American Chesterton Society, which is recognized as a Catholic lay apostolate organization, the Minnesota Catholic Credit Union, and a local private elementary school.
Well-qualified in his field, Mr. Hanten is recognized as a Master Registered Financial Consultant, Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow, and Fraternal Insurance Counselor Fellow. He is also a Series 65 registered investment advisor representative. As a devoted leader in the industry, Mr. Hanten is active as a member and past president of the Minneapolis chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.
