BURTONSVILLE, MD, December 23, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- June-Elizabeth Williams, PhD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Dr. Williams has worked to improve her community for several years. Prior to embarking on her professional journey, she completed coursework in food and nutrition at the Hammersmith and West London College in England. After moving to the United States, she attained an Associate of Business Administration from Washington Saturday College and an honorary Doctor of Philosophy from Shiloh Gospel Ministries International, which she received for her outstanding humanitarian services.
Following her educational accomplishments, Dr. Williams began her career working for Ayuda, a nonprofit organization that provides legal, social and language services to help low-income immigrants gain justice and improve their lives. During her tenure there, she received a citation from the Office of the Mayor for helping the Latino community in the District of Columbia. Following this period, she served as a paraeducator for Montgomery County Public Schools, retiring from this role after nearly two decades of excellence.
Since 2021, Dr. Williams has earned distinction as the founder and chief executive officer for the JE Williams Elite International Foundation, donations to which support local charities and the organization's mission to help children with diabetes. While the foundation was temporarily inactive due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she is presently working on developing a website for the foundation to help promote their message and gain more funding.
Dr. Williams was inspired to start the foundation after visiting Guyana and looking for her father at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation. During this time, she observed several children whose limbs had been amputated. She was shocked to discover that their conditions were due to complications caused by diabetes. She gained a passion for helping people who live with diabetes and, alongside her cousin, launched the foundation's first project in 2019, which swiftly achieved success.
Looking toward the future, Dr. Williams intends to expand the scope of her foundation's efforts to an international level, particularly in South America. She is developing projects involving nutrition and promoting organic vegetable gardening, collecting seeds from The Home Depot that she intends to give away to the public in Guyana.
Her favorite quote is "If no one knows who you are it means you never existed."
