Dr. Rashid was subsequently chosen to participate in wildlife work, becoming the first veterinarian in Asia to breed royal Bengal tigers in captivity.
Dr. Rashid later traveled to the United States, where he earned his Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification at the University of Missouri.
